Slide-Out Repair
The first job today is a slide-out repair needed after the coach was hit by a truck. The exterior of the slide-out was damaged and pushed in, as were the cabinets inside.
The room is now out and will get a new exterior skin with new fiberglass that will match the rest of the coach.
The slide-out rams that allow the room to move are bent and need to be straightened. The team will access them through the floor to complete the repair. The damaged wood cabinets have been repaired and reassembled.
This coach is lived in full time, so the team is determined to get it back on the road in top shape. In the meantime, it can hook up right here at Leisure Coachworks every night and the owners can enjoy the comfort of their home on wheels.
Teardrop Trailer Build Update
The new chassis is ready, with space to store the spare tire underneath. The team has also given it some extra clearance so it won’t bottom out. A nice big storage box is sitting on the new A-frame and the whole chassis is much stronger and straighter.
The fenders and doors have been removed and the trailer is ready for the metal to be sealed so it is prepared for primer. The inside is empty and the team is testing colors for the exterior.
Mobile Library
This mobile library has a wheelchair lift that was removed for installation of new, industrial carpet and then reinstalled. New custom-built Formica counters have been installed. The shelving has been sanded and re-cleared.
New lighting and roof vents make the vehicle more functional, and Formica countertops on the desks at the front add space to read or study to the mobile library. Since a bookmobile should be fun, the team installed some colorful backlights behind the ceiling lights.
The next step on this project will be a new, custom exterior wrap. The bookmobile is almost done, with just a few steps left before it can be stocked with books and get on the road.
