RV LED Dome Light Installation – Wiring

When you replace your previous dome fixture, all the wires are already in place. All you need to do is remove the last dome light to reveal the black and white wires. The black wire is for direct current, and the white wire is for ground or neutral.

However, in some cases, the wires are reversed. So, it is better to check them before installing RV LED Dome Light. First, take the clamp amp meter and turn it to DC. Then connect red meter wire with black electric wire and black meter wire with white electric wire. If the number is positive, then your black wire is direct current, and white wire is ground, or if the number on your meter is negative, it is vice versa.
To make it easy for you, RV LED lights have a built-in color-coded guide so that you can attach the wires correctly. In addition, these lights are polarity sensitive and work well on low voltage.

RV LED Dome Light Installation – Placement

Now attach the RV LED light wires to the respective cables and double-check by turning on the light whether you have connected the correct wires or not. If the light turns on, then you have connected the correct wires. Next, slide off the covers from both sides before tucking back the cables in the wall or shelf. Then fix the light on the old bolt holes.

You don’t need to make new holes for screws. Fix the light on the wall and screw the nut bolts. After securing your RV LED light, please turn it on and off again to ensure it is working correctly. Put back on both light covers.
