From looking at it, you would think this bus conversion came out of the Leisure Coachworks shop today.
But it is four years old and looks like it just rolled out the door.
The diamond shield protection on the front, and the hand-painted logo, look great and are still protecting from rocks on the road. The new LED lights we installed tie in seamlessly with the vintage style of the bus that we carefully preserved.
Bus Conversion – Modern Exterior Updates
Believe it or not, this bus is from 1956. We added air conditioning and solar panels without affecting the vintage look. The electric awning tucks in close to the side of the bus when not in use and offers incredible shade when deployed.
The paint job is classic, with a hand-painted greyhound on each side to keep the original spirit alive.
The quality of the materials and craftsmanship of our professionals made this vintage bus into a showpiece worthy of a magazine cover.
GMC Bus Conversion – Comfortable, Stylish Interior
One of the highlights of this RV conversion is the solid wood cabinets. They hold a sound system and a built-in fireplace. A large screen TV disappears down into the cabinet when not in use, making excellent use of every inch of cabinet space.
Custom window treatments and roller shades give this entertainment area a refined finish.
The kitchen area has a custom wine cooler in reach of the space-saving booth. Solid surface countertops, a good-sized sink, cooktop and oven, microwave, and full fridge make for a fully functional, modern kitchen. Built-in cabinets above offer plenty of storage space.
The bathroom has more storage and a vintage-style shower door to keep the bus reminiscent of its era.
The cedar closet and sink area are modern and functional without clashing with any of the vintage elements. Heading into the bedroom we see a great example of mixing modern and vintage.
The bed has solid surface nightstands on either side, plenty of LED lighting, and roller shades. The TV swings out from the wall and an air conditioner keeps everyone comfortable.
To keep things from getting too modern, we used wood cabinets over the bed for a vintage look that still offers plenty of storage space. The wood cabinetry throughout gives the interior a warm, timeless feel that works exceptionally well for a vintage bus build.
Greyhound Bus Conversion – In the Driver’s Seat
Our design team and technicians gave this area a spare, pared-down look that’s functional without looking overly technical or too modern. The dash is wrapped in the same leather as the chairs, with a custom steering wheel in blue to match the exterior elements.
Subtle nods to Greyhound and 1956 add nice transit bus touches to the entryway.
The controls for the solar, air conditioning, heating, and other very modern conveniences are mostly hidden behind panels. They are convenient and give the vintage bus all of the comforts of modern technology without overwhelming the vintage origins of this RV.
This four-year-old bus conversion showcases the durability and timelessness of our dedication to quality materials and expert technicians. This customer has been living their best bus life and the Greyhound looks like the bus conversion was completed yesterday.
