We’re taking a look at what’s in the Leisure Coachworks shop! On deck today is a vintage teardrop trailer, a wheelchair lift, and an interior remodel.
Teardrop Trailer
This silver vintage teardrop trailer is getting a whole new frame and a custom paint job in red, teal, and green. The paint will be in a Bauhaus design, giving this trailer a new look.
The rear of the teardrop trailer will be upgraded and modernized. The existing wood cabinets will be replaced with a functional outdoor kitchen with oak trim. A two-burner cooktop and sink will make meal preparation much more convenient.
The lift will have two struts and a cover with windows to protect from any weather.
There will be room in the kitchen for a refrigerator and a heater.
Inside, the teardrop trailer will get paneling, new lighting, and a custom-built overhead with cabinets and room for TV storage. An upgraded battery and a storage container on the new A-frame will add function to the front of the frame.
Wheelchair Lift
The team is installing a custom wheelchair lift on a motorhome door for easy, safe, improved accessibility. The lift frame is affixed securely to the exterior of the RV. The platform has been modified to fit the doorway and the wheelchair perfectly.
Inside the motorhome, additional modifications have been made for wheelchair accessibility. A wall was moved back to increase the size of a doorway. There will also be a flip-down sink to make more space in the bathroom.
The interior also shows the extra plates installed on the lift to increase its strength and ensure its safety.
Flooring and Interiors
The team is remodeling the interior of a 20-year-old coach. They’ve replaced the old carpet with new laminate flooring, including in the kitchen slide-out. They’re adding rollers so the slide-out can function on the laminate.
New upholstery for all the chairs and benches keep everything cohesive and looking like it was designed to be that way. The bedroom has new carpet and the bathroom has a brand new toilet.
