City Bus to Book Mobile Conversion

Today we’re looking at two finished vehicle conversions for a local city. One project turned a Blue Bird bus into a community bookmobile; the other converted a van into a community outreach vehicle.

Bus Conversion Exterior

The first thing you’ll notice is the new custom wrap. The updated wrap highlights the city. Mirrors, steps, and other features all got fresh paint so that they look new and match the new wrap.

This bus conversion features a new, legless, power awning. It opens and closes easily using a remote and has lighting for nighttime use. It’s a big upgrade from the old awning with legs that reached the wheel well.

The exterior has new side cameras that allow the driver to have a three-way view. They can see either side of the bus when turning, and they have a rear backup camera.

Bus Conversion Interior

The bookmobile got new commercial carpeting. Shelving covers both sides of the bus and incorporates Formica topped workstations. Everything is lit with new bright lighting with backlit LEDs.

The passenger chair was replaced at the front and makes for a convenient spot to sit and control the new fans and roof vents with a remote. Two Formica topped desks finish off the workstations in this bus conversion bookmobile.

Van Conversion

The van got a nice wrap, even on the roof, and a 12-volt legless power awning like the bookmobile. Running boards on both sides and a custom-painted roof rack complete the exterior of this van conversion.

Inside, the seats were removed and the vinyl flooring was replaced with black coin flooring. Solid oak cabinets were designed specifically to carry the totes this customer uses.

Space was made for tables and chairs to be transported safely with straps to hold them securely. The van is now ready for whatever community projects are in store.
