In episodes one and two of this exciting bus conversion series, we got a glimpse of the solid, versatile, and practical Winnebago framework that is perfect for this mobile classroom on wheels. And we got a little taste of what the Leisure Coachworks crew has planned for this custom build.
When we last caught up with this RV conversion, the team had checked and bundled all the wiring in the Winnebago. Now they’ve gone ahead and started the process of moving it out of the way and safely hiding it behind the ceiling panel.
This custom ceiling looks like it was designed to be exactly how it is, with vents, lights, and trim all installed. Wall panels cover holes left behind after the RV demo removed unnecessary components.
This mobile classroom will have an exterior TV, and the space for that installation has been cut and prepped. It will be reinforced so that the TV can safely travel. The rear of the Winnebago has been transformed from a bedroom to a fully prepped area for a storage cabinet.
This storage area is unique in that it will have exterior access. The crew built a section of new floor to fill in the space once occupied by the bed.
The driver’s side wall has panels and the wiring that was so evident in episode two has all been hidden away. The next step is the removal of the flooring to allow for the mock-up of the custom booths and rear cabinet.
The mock-ups get sent off for customer approval before the custom build begins so that the final product matches their vision for a practical mobile classroom on wheels. The LCW team wants this project finished for the upcoming school semester so stay tuned for the next update!
