Transforming Our RV Kitchen Into a Chef’s Dream! | RV Kitchen Remodel Ep1

Welcome to our Leisure Coachworks custom RV video. Today we’re working on a single owner 2014 Fleetwood Discovery. The customer loves this RV, but as we all know, our homes on wheels sometimes feel dated!

Unable to find what they were looking for in a new vehicle, they came to our skilled team of craftsmen for the RV upgrade of their dreams. Today we’re taking a first look at this project. Jon walks us through the RV as it is and gives us a sense of how the team plans on transforming it.

The motorhome has a nice, roomy kitchen and living area.

The customer likes the placement of the big sofa, but it needs to be reupholstered. So do the captain’s chairs in front. New upholstery will update the entire space and serve as the backbone of the updated design. We love keeping the elements that work! It saves time, money, and helps decrease waste.

In the RV kitchen, the team will move the refrigerator to a new position on the current wall and reconfigure the sink, stove, and counter. The plan is to make a custom, pull-out island that can be tucked away when it’s not in use.

The current booth seating is larger than necessary, so it will be reduced in size. We’ll see what the team comes up with for the rest of the space. This area is getting the most substantial remodel. The RV kitchen will go from serviceable but dated to an ideal space for cooking and dining.

At Leisure Coachworks, we have a lot of experience designing upgraded spaces to fit every individual’s needs. Every RV interior upgrade is a combination of the customer’s vision and our technicians’ skill and experience.

The team will also be adding insulation to the walls of the entire vehicle. This Fleetwood motorhome travels in cold weather so there is also talk of a hydronic heating system to handle the chill.

As we head to the back, we pass a set of bunks that will serve double duty in the finished custom RV. The team will create folding bunks so the space can be used for a desk when they’re not in use. In the bedroom, the window will become a door with steps. The customer will still have plenty of light and the motorhome will have another entry/ exit.

This project is a great example of how the Leisure Coachworks team helps our customers get the features that they want in an RV without buying something brand new. This Fleetwood Discovery is in great shape, but the interior is getting worn out. The customer has different needs than when they bought the vehicle new in 2014. A custom RV upgrade is the perfect way to keep your motorhome or travel trailer through different stages of your life on the road.

If you have an older RV that needs updating or any vehicle that doesn’t have the features you want, contact Leisure Coachworks. We specialize in custom RV remodels that are practical, functional, beautiful, and designed perfectly so that they look like they just rolled out of a showroom.
