Custom RVs
No matter if it’s an RV restoration, RV remodel, or Bus Conversion, we are your custom RV experts.
But what exactly is the difference? Below we outline what each entails.
RV Restoration
An RV restoration is when the recreational vehicle is restored back to its like new original condition. Example: You have a Vintage 1959 Airstream OVL, but its seen better days. None of the appliances work, it has electrical issues and there’s water damage. An RV restoration would fix the leaks and electrical, replace or fix the appliances, and when done it will look as if it rolled right off the assembly line in 1959.
RV Renovation
Much like in a home, an RV renovation updates the overall look and feel it, and it doesn’t change from its intended purpose. It remains a motorhome. The bedroom remains a bedroom. The kitchen remains a kitchen. This can include new interior and exterior paint, new RV flooring, new windows, new appliances. An RV renovation can also include fixing plumbing, electrical, and warped or rotted wood and replacing with new materials or updated fixtures.
RV Refurbish and RV Makeover – Refurbs and makeovers are closely related to restoration and renovation, because they all aim to restore it to its former glory while keeping its intended purpose.
RV Remodel
An RV remodel differs from a renovation, in that a portion of the recreational vehicle, has changed its initial purpose. This may include tearing out floors and moving walls and windows to accommodate changes in the layout of appliances and furniture. A good rule of thumb is if the purpose of the space has changed, like a bedroom turning into an remote office, then the project is a remodel.
RV Conversion
While a remodel can involve changing the function of a space like a bedroom to an office, a conversion is changing the entire items function. Like a school bus to an RV.
A good example of an RV conversion would be our MCI Bus Conversion. Which was a city buy converted to an RV.
