We love a final reveal and the time has come to show the band their newly remodeled custom RV! This one-of-a-kind vehicle is ready to take the musicians out on tour. We get to tag along with Jon and the band as they get their first look at their finished band bus.
To brush up on where the team started with this Super C motorhome, check out the first two videos of this build:
- Episode One. Jon takes a first look at the vehicle, noting the water damage to the sink, floor, ceiling, and roof and laying out the initial planning for the remodel.
- Episode Two. Jon shows us everything that was removed to pare down this vehicle so it has the sleeping space the band requires.
Touring bands put a lot of miles on their vehicles. Everyone is excited to have a new band bus with low mileage and less than 100 hours on the generator.
This build is all about traveling comfortably and staying on budget, so let’s see the finished project!
The band takes a quick look around before heading to the most important part of any tour bus: the bunks. The rear area of the coach has seven comfortable places to sleep. Four slightly longer and wider bunks for the band and a three-stack for the crew.
This area used to be a standard motorhome bedroom. Now it’s a sleek, functional space decorated in neutral grey tones where everyone can have some privacy. Each bunk has its own lights and outlets to keep devices charged as the band winds down after a show.
The outlets are a crucial part of this custom RV. A band on the road needs to charge their devices, including cameras, laptops, and more. Having enough functioning outlets is a real luxury for a touring band.
Returning to the living area, the band is really happy with the new flooring. Gone is the water-damaged carpet, with durable laminate in its place throughout the motorhome. The hard flooring is easier to maintain and keep clean while the band is on the road.
The technicians were able to keep the booth and seating in the slide out. It had barely been used and keeping the components that work is a great way to stay on budget. They kept a bit of undamaged carpet here, allowing the slide to function smoothly.
Making the band bus look like it was always meant to be this way is one of the Leisure Coachworks technicians’ specialties. With years of training and experience, they approach every interior remodel with that goal. Even this very specific, one-of-a-kind custom RV tour bus looks like it came off the factory floor with this precise layout and design.
The front of the coach had a big, bulky overhead when the motorhome arrived in the shop. That space over the cab has been completely transformed into a comfortable bunk, styled to match those in the back.
It opens up the whole space, giving it a roomier feel as well as more sleeping space.
This build is a great way to show the possibilities of an older RV remodeled by skilled hands. The band now has a custom tour bus for comfortable travel and an attractive space for visitors. The custom band bus features fit their budget and their long-term plans for touring.
