Turning an RV into a Tour Bus Walkthrough | Super C Repair & Remodel Ep2

The last time we visited this Super C motorhome, it had just rolled into our full-service RV repair shop. In the first video (watch here) we:

• Got a look at the RV interior water damage
• Talked about RV roof repair and leaking skylights
• Went over preliminary plans for a complete interior renovation

In this episode of Super C to Tour Bus, we’re getting a first look at the work in progress. Water damage is never a good thing, but in this case, the team got lucky. The interior fixtures that got wet were unnecessary for the build and were removed entirely.

The goal of this custom RV remodel is to pare down a regular Super C vehicle and give this band the essentials they need to hit the road while staying on a budget. Jon gives us a look at everything the team removed to make way for the most important part of every tour bus: sleeping space.

The standard bedroom, pantry, shower, closet, and more were removed to open up space in the rear of the vehicle for bunks. The team has framed in sleeping space for four band members and three crew members in the back of this custom RV.

The band has bunks in what used to be the bedroom. The slide out has been converted into two bunks, each with an area slightly smaller than a twin bed. This room functions just as well closed as open.

Across the room are two more bunks for the band affixed to the wall. These bunks will be heavily reinforced to make them super strong and durable.

The crew has three bunks in what used to be the closet, pantry, sink, and shower area. They have a little less headroom, but still plenty of space for everyone to rest up between shows.

Each bunk has its own lighting and the team has created storage areas beneath the lower beds. We see how the Leisure Coachworks team has accommodated the wiring and plumbing that served the old floor plan. Wiring is moved, plumbing is boxed off, and vents are extended to use the space in a new way. Leisure Coachworks has the experience and skilled technicians to make sure no detail is overlooked.

Since we’re working both on a budget and a deadline, it’s especially impressive to see how the technicians have used complementary original and new materials to create a natural, cohesive look throughout the RV interior. Everything will look as if it was always meant to be this way.

The team has begun a big change at the front of the vehicle. Originally, there was an entertainment center over the cab. The band doesn’t need that, so the area will become another bunk. The space has been opened up and we can see that there will be plenty of room for a custom bed.

And what about that leaky roof? It has been completely replaced, with new vents and skylights that will keep the water on the outside where it belongs.

This RV to Tour Bus custom renovation is coming along very well. We’re looking forward to seeing the next steps in the build. Follow Leisure Coachworks on YouTube so you never miss an update or a new video. Have an idea for a custom RV project? Contact us or stop on by our RV shop in Fontana, CA.
