Alfa Class A Motorhomes

A Heart of Gold

For many in the RV community, Alfa Class A motorhomes remain the gold standard for the best in RV living. Alfa enthusiasts are dedicated to keeping their motorhomes in top shape with regular service and upgrades.

Despite being discontinued in 2008, the Alfa name shines on with a reputation as the finest residential-style motorhomes ever produced.

Alfa History

Alfa Leisure Inc. was founded by John Crean in 1973. The company made its signature motorhomes for 35 years before going out of business in the lean economy of 2008.

The company focused on home-style features like high ceilings and big windows. At the time, Alfa RVs felt more like comfortable homes than anything else on the market. If you ask current owners, they still do.

Alfa Models

During those 35 years, Alfa Leisure sold three major RV models: the Alfa See Ya!, the Alfa Founder, and the Alfa Gold. Eminently livable, and arguably ahead of their time, Alfa motorhomes came with amenities not offered by any other manufacturers.

The Alfa See Ya!

The Alfa See Ya! was the first model offered by Alfa. Alfa’s trademark 7’6” ceilings, enormous windows, and a powerful motor and solid chassis gave this motorhome its foundation.

The interior also included residential basement air conditioning, a feature exclusive to Alfa motorhomes.

Tall, deep slide-out rooms gave the already spacious See Ya! even more living space. The company included quality features like solid oak cabinet doors, a nice big refrigerator with an ice maker, and cedar-lined closets.

That seems like a lot but there was so much more.

Ceramic tile, two satellite dishes, laundry facilities, and more were featured inside. Outside, travelers could take advantage of an outdoor entertainment system including a TV, power awnings, a freezer and grill, and even outdoor furniture.

The Alfa Founder

The Alfa Founder was a slightly pared-back Class A motorhome offered by Alfa. By any standard, it was a luxurious coach with outstanding features. The Founder was created by John Crean as something a little less extravagant than the original See Ya!

What Crean wanted was simpler furnishings, fewer electronics, and a larger refrigerator. He felt that it would appeal to owners like him who wanted a less complicated RV life.

Other changes including storage options were added and the Founder satisfied Alfa’s own founder.

The Alfa Gold

The most luxurious offering from Alfa, the Gold brought in everything from the See Ya! Then Alfa Leisure Inc. upgraded it all.

The Alfa Gold added power and new electronics to the already impressive features of the See Ya! Larger closets, the inclusion of a GPS, two refrigerators, and much more took the Alfa Gold one step further than its predecessors.

The Enduring Appeal of Alfa Motorhomes

Alfa customers are loyal to their brand. They gather on internet forums, seek out fellow enthusiasts, and routinely repair and upgrade their Alfa motorhomes.

Created as the ultimate luxury home on wheels, the Alfa motorhome is spacious, comfortable, and has infinite potential for modern upgrades. With all that space to work with, the Alfa Class A motorhome can accommodate more seating, sleeping, kitchen, and bathroom space than its contemporary counterparts.

Owners rave about the handling of their Alfa vehicles. That’s quite an achievement for a 40 foot Class A motorhome.

Alfa also shines with its extra-large slide-outs. They add even more space and opportunity for RV upgrades and customization. There are so many details, large and small, that make Alfa motorhomes special that it’s impossible to list them all.

Alfa loyalty runs deep and Alfa owners want the best

Alfa loyalty runs deep and Alfa owners want the best RV repair and service for their vehicles. They appreciate the original goal of making the motorhomes feel spacious and comfortable and homey. They want those who care for their motorhomes to appreciate that Alfa sensibility as well.

It makes sense that they turn to a company with deep, dedicated roots in the Alfa community. Leisure Coachworks (originally Alfateers), founded specifically for Alfa customers, provides a level of Alfa expertise and commitment not found anywhere else in the RV service industry.

Alfateers

After the closure of Alfa Leisure Inc. in 2008, two of its longstanding employees wanted to continue to be present for Alfa customers. Richard Olivas and Jon Goldstein had years of experience and a true commitment to Alfa owners.

They opened a facility in Fontana, CA, hired a team with expertise in Alfa RV service, and called themselves Alfateers. This team dedicated itself to providing the best RV service in the industry for Alfa owners.

As part of the original Alfa Leisure team, Olivas and Goldstein knew both their product and their customers. They set up Alfateers to ensure that Alfa owners had a service destination they could trust.

Over the years, Alfateers evolved to include maintenance, service, RV repair, upgrades, and custom conversions. The team no longer worked only on Alfa products. They expanded into most makes and models of RVs. Motorhomes, travel trailers, campers, 5th wheels, and van and bus conversions.

But their hearts still held a special place for the Alfa community.

Leisure Coachworks

Now called Leisure Coachworks, the business is the premiere service destination for Alfa Class A motorhomes and 5th wheels. Alfa owners contact them daily with questions about repairs, support, and upgrades.
